The Paris Agreement: What is it? How is it being implemented? How are we doing?” with Peter Clark

Join us at the farm to hear Peter Clark speak

The Paris Agreement is an international treaty that was adopted by 196 countries in 2015 with two main goals:

(1) Limit global temperature increase to 2oC above pre-Industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit warming to 1.5oC above pre-Industrial levels, so as to significantly reduce the risks and impacts of climate change

(2) Increase the ability to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change in a manner that does not threaten food production.

In this talk, Peter will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the science established by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that forms the framework for the treaty. He will also summarize the strategy that the treaty developed to achieve the temperature goals. Finally, he will show how we (the world’s countries) are doing in reaching those goals.
